Supporting our communities

As a community venture, you can make a big positive impact. Sometimes it’s difficult to get the finance you need to grow. So with our strong heritage of supporting community-based businesses, we’re doing more to help.
Social & Community Capital is a charity funded and supported by NatWest in order to help social enterprises and community businesses.

How we can help

Maybe you need funding to get off the ground. Perhaps you need the networks or supply chains to grow and evolve. We’re there to support you at every stage of the journey, from starting up to expanding your impact on the world.

Who we've helped

Between 2012 and 2017 we funded over 30 social ventures through NatWest Social & Community Capital. Our ambition is to increase the size and strength of this important sector of the UK economy. Here are some examples of the social ventures we've supported.

Vi-Ability helps to educate and inspire young people who are struggling to find employment, using different methods like hands-on coaching and sports business courses.

Harmony Community Trust

Harmony Community Trust is all about bringing people in Northern Ireland together – see how we supported their vibrant programmes for children, young people and adults at Glebe House.

Bristol Together

Since operations began in 2011, Bristol Together has developed more than 70 properties in the local community and supported over 60 former prisoners back into work in the process.

Our impact report
