Andy Wright, Head of Trustee & Depositary Services, NatWest

Andy Wright is Head of Trustee & Depositary Services. Prior to his current appointment, Andy was Head of Transaction Services Product for the UK and Financial Institutions sector within RBS International Banking.

He has a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Economics and since joining NatWest in 1986 has worked in a variety of leadership roles.  He spent six years in Asia in the 1990’s in a credit risk role for NatWest Markets, Tokyo followed by two years in Seoul as Branch Manager.

Upon returning to London Andy assumed client facing responsibilities as Head of Correspondent Banking, Europe and subsequently spent several years as Head of Financial Institutions Origination in Global Transaction Services.

Andy became Head of Trustee & Depositary Services in 2013.


Jasper Berens, Head of UK Funds Business, JP Morgan Asset Management

Jasper Berens, Managing Director, is head of the UK Funds Business at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.  An employee since 1997, previously he was head of UK Sales from 2005 to 2012. Prior to that, he was head of Asset Management Sales. He started his career in fund sales at Guinness Flight and Hambros in 1993. Jasper sits on the Global Funds Management Operating Committee.  Jasper also sits on the UK and European Investment Management Committees.  He is also a Director of JPM Asset Management (UK) Ltd as well as a Director of JPM Funds Ltd,  J.P Morgan Trustee & Administration Services and J.P Morgan Asset Management Marketing Ltd.  Jasper is Chair of the Gleneagles Conference Executive Committee and also sits on JPMC’s UK Philanthropy Committee.  He is also a Board member of the Investment Association Board.    Jasper obtained a BA in History from the University of Bristol.


Antonio Barattelli, Senior Policy Officer for Investment Management, ESMA

Antonio joined ESMA in August 2011 and works as a Senior Policy Officer for Investment Management within the Investors and Issuers Department. Antonio deals with the EU legislation on asset management (UCITS Directive, AIFMD and ELTIF Regulation) with a specific focus on remuneration and depositary-related matters. Over the recent years, he also contributed to the ESMA and IOSCO activities on benchmarks. Prior to joining ESMA, Antonio was a senior associate at the law firm Arendt&Medernach in Luxembourg where he advised a wide range of international clients on setting up investment funds. He also worked for two Italian law firms in Brussels and Padua specialising in European competition law and litigation. He qualified as a lawyer in Italy and was registered as an EU foreign lawyer in Luxembourg. Antonio holds a law degree from the University of Padua, a master degree (DESS) in European Litigation from the University of Luxembourg and the University of Strasbourg “R. Schuman” as well a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from the King’s College (London).


Pamela Thompson, Head of Investment Funds and Asset Management, Eversheds

Pamela is the London Senior Office Partner who is the head of the investment funds and asset management team within Eversheds. Her expertise lies in product development, distribution and regulation and the regulation of asset managers themselves. She acts as a consultant to the FCA and Investment Association and was consulted by the Treasury to discuss the competitiveness of UK PLC for asset managers, which culminated in the Treasury's "Investment Management Strategy".  She is regularly at the cutting edge of product development, most recently working with the Treasury and HMRC on the new UK tax transparent fund structure and having prepared the industry template deed for the Investment Association.


Jonathan Lipkin, Director Public Policy, The Investment Association

Jonathan focuses on the client-facing side of asset management and on public policy more broadly. He oversees the Products and Services division which brings together a range of workstreams and disciplines in two key areas. The first covers product distribution, operations, regulation and reporting. The second encompasses public policy, research and statistics. This team engages with Government and regulators in both the UK and EU on many topical issues, including fund disclosure, financial advice and pensions policy.
Prior to joining the IMA in 2005, he worked for a number of years at Oxford Analytica, an international consultancy, leading its European political and economic analysis. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Asset Management Research at Cass Business School, London and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.


Chris Mills, Business Development Director, Insurance & Investment Management, KPMG LLP (UK)

Chris joined KPMG in March 2015 and is directly responsible for several Key Accounts within the UK Insurance and Investment Management practice covering all Audit, Tax & Advisory Services.
Chris also works in KPMG’s global FinTech team, particularly in 3 inter-related Strategic Growth Initiatives of Technology Solutions, Cyber & Digital and is responsible for multiple UK Blockchain initiatives e.g. KYC, derivative clearing and trading.
Consequently, Chris is regularly involved in honing an innovative technology or FinTech business case (functionally, commercially and culturally) for use in a complex asset manager from proof-of-concept through to global deployment.
