When Stephen Lucock a Bed and Breakfast owner got talking to a guest one night, little did he know then how powerful that conversation would prove to be for his business.
Stephen opened the Tirah Guest House seven years ago with his wife Karen in the genteel seaside town of Aldeburgh, Suffolk, a great spot for holidaymakers. Stephen purchased the property with a Building Society loan, but issues arose when at the point of redeveloping the property, in 2016, the lender was unable to offer them an appropriate restructured deal.
As a result Stephen approached another high street bank to see if they could help. Seven months later he was no further forward. Then one autumn night a Financial Adviser stayed over in the B&B and suggested that he should speak to NatWest’s Lorna McQueen.
