Your Business Debit card is great for day-to-day purchases. It’s designed for you regardless of the size of your business and can help cut down on the administration involved in reconciling cash and personal card expenses. That way it’s easier to keep track of all your business expenditure.

Withdrawing cash

Withdraw cash free of charge

 

You can withdraw cash free of charge at any cash machine where you see the Visa sign. Other companies may charge a fee. The daily limit for cash machine withdrawals is £1,500.

 

If you want to withdraw more than £1,500, you can visit one of our branches. Your card can be used at any NatWest or Royal Bank of Scotland branch teller for cash withdrawals up to the available funds in the account. Cash can also be withdrawn at Post Office counters up to a maximum of £500 per day.

 


 

Need emergency cash?

 

If your card is lost or stolen, we'll give you a code to withdraw up to £300 of your money from any NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank cash machine in the UK or Ireland.

 

Withdraw up to £300 if you are an internet or telephone banking customer, or up to £60 if you're not. You'll need to have enough money in your account and a minimum of £25 available in your account.

Contactless payments

 

All our standard Business Debit cards come with contactless technology, allowing you to make a secure payment in less than a second.

 

You can buy anything up to a value of £30 by touching your card on a reader, anywhere you see the contactless symbol.

 


 

 

Secure payments

 

All your payments, including contactless, are processed using the same Visa payment technology we use to process chip and PIN payments.

 

You may occasionally be asked to enter your PIN as an extra precaution to protect your account. Contactless cards also use advanced security features that are independently approved by the payment card industry.

 

You can also register for NatWest Secure and benefit from additional security when you use your Business Debit card to pay for goods online.

Using your card overseas

Buying goods abroad

 

Any transaction made in a foreign currency using your Business Debit card is converted by us into Sterling using the Visa Payment Scheme Exchange Rate. To see the up-to-date rates used for Business Debit cards visit www.visaeurope.com and click on the Cardholders section. 

 

Whenever you make a purchase we’ll charge you a 2.75% Foreign Purchase Fee.

Rates and charges

This section sets out our charges for the transaction types listed below. It does not reflect any charges which a third party might charge you (for example, commission rates or ATM fees)

Sterling cash withdrawals from any UK cash machine (ATM)

Sterling cash withdrawals from any RBS branch in the UK, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar

Sterling cash withdrawals in the UK in any bank, travel agent, bureau de change or other outlet displaying the Visa logo

Purchase of foreign currency or travellers' cheques in the UK

No charge

Foreign currency withdrawal from any cash machine (ATM) in the UK

Cash withdrawals or the purchase of currency or travellers’ cheques outside the UK

We will charge a Foreign Cash Fee of 2% of the value of the transaction (minimum £2, maximum £5). We will also charge a Non-Sterling Transaction Fee of 2.75% of the value of the transaction.

If you elect for the transaction to be converted into Sterling at the point of sale or withdrawal, we will not charge a Non-Sterling Transaction Fee, however the transaction handler may charge you a separate fee.

Purchases made outside the UK (for example, purchasing goods in a shop)

Purchases made anywhere in a foreign currency (for example, online/telephone purchases made in or outside the UK).

We will charge a Foreign Purchase Fee of 2.75% of the value of the transaction (minimum £1).

Where a charge in the table above is stated as a percentage, this is a percentage of the Sterling transaction amount.

If your card has been lost, stolen or damaged, please use the correct form to let us know about it. We'll issue a new card and make sure the old card is cancelled.
